Issey Miyake launched PLEATS PLEASE ISSEY MIYAKE in 1993 after developing a garment-pleating process that allowed clothing to move freely with the body. The research included work for dancers and placed lightness and versatility at its centre. Pleated dresses and separates explore the relationship between a flat surface, volume and everyday movement.
